Job Description

Help us define the next generation of Mobile advertising.  The Mobile Product Owner will play an integral role in our fast-growing startup, contributing to Mobile App strategy and product requirements, with executional and go to market oversight. This is a hands-on role, which will include brainstorming new opportunities, having discussions with various business and user stakeholders, drafting requirements and user stories, and working in an Agile environment to ensure your work is shipped.

Some Mobile Product Management experience is required, but willingness to learn, adapt, and own in highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment is paramount.

Position Responsibilities

  • Define mobile app feature and user experience requirements to bring product to market to grow (and, of course, retain) user base

  • Manage Mobile product roadmap - Decide what features get prioritized, and be comfortable to justify why

  • Represent the needs of the product in a Scrum team, leading refinement and planning discussions, and working with Engineering to ensure deliverables are completed to requirements. 

  • Work closely with Design to develop a world class mobile user experience that is intuitive, consistent, and valuable to users and clients.

  • Ability to articulate complex requirements – both orally and in writing – so that all Scrum team members are working towards understood expected outcomes. 

  • Comfort authoring user stories for both front end and back end engineers

  • Participate in go-to-market launch planning, working closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure appropriate user adoption and retention goals are met

  • Understand your industry and market - Gather feedback, analyze data, and use instincts to understand our users' needs

  • An innovative, flexible, on-your-feet problem solver, able to advocate for what you think is important while knowing when to listen for alternative concerns and approaches you may have missed.

  • An excellent communicator (written and oral) and obsessively organized. You need to be able to fluently speak business and tech. You can manage multiple projects across various stages and keep them all on track.

  • Equally comfortable authoring stories for front-end and back-end development teams.

  • Ultimately responsible for delivering product experiences that delight our customers.

  • A rare combination of intelligence, vision, empathy, and “get it done” attitude.

  • User-focused product design instincts and a relentless attitude about solving complicated problems with a simple user experience.

  • Experienced as the decision-maker taking a product from early vision to success in the market.

  • A self-starter who is confident and able to move projects forward with little direction.

  • Must have a healthy mix of big picture and granular detail perspectives so that requirements are effectively agreed upon and understood across all stakeholders and engineering team members

  • Must be able to wear a project management hat and ensure what has been defined is actually being executed

Do You Possess These Top Skills

  • Must have a ‘get it done’ attitude

  • 1-3 years’ experience in product management

  • Some mobile product management experience preferred

  • Strong oral, written, and consultative communication skills, with ability to fluently speak business and tech.

  • Product Intuition — Strong understanding of iOS and Android best practices preferred

  • Technical Chops — No need to code, but you should be able to talk the talk with engineering and design teams

  • Top notch organization and project management skills.

  • Degree in business, technology, design, or computer science

  • Experience working with a distributed team preferred
